Job Highlights
About the Role
• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope. • Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for management and bid submissions. • Scope and qualify subcontractor and material quotations per company procedures. • Perform take‑offs and quantity surveys using standardized methods. • Anticipate potential issues and develop proactive solutions. • Solicit quotes from approved vendors strategically with supervisor guidance. • Attend pre‑bid meetings and conduct site surveys as required. • Prepare bid summaries ensuring accurate pricing approval. • Organize and coordinate bid‑day activities for timely submission. • Draft and submit scope letters, bid forms, and related documentation. • Research manufacturers and recommend optimal selections to management. • Generate and issue RFIs before bidding when needed. • Support project management with change‑order estimating and pre‑construction tasks. • Work independently or collaboratively to meet estimate deadlines. • Initiate accounting breakdowns and audit cost codes with the Chief. • Maintain accurate data within estimating platforms. • Contribute to department meetings and special projects.

What You Bring
Candidates should have 2–7 years of experience as an electrical estimator, project engineer, or field electrician, with a solid understanding of commercial electrical systems. A bachelor’s degree in a related field or a completed electrical trade program is preferred, and the CPE certification is a plus. • 2–7 years experience as an electrical estimator, project engineer, or field electrician. • Proven ability to manage multiple estimates and budgets concurrently. • Strong knowledge of electrical systems relevant to commercial construction. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred) or completion of an electrical trade program. • CPE (Certified Professional Electrical Estimator) certification is a plus. • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Procore, MS Project, and estimating software such as Accubid or LiveCount.
