About the Role

The Fire Alarm Systems Technician role involves installing field devices, programming, troubleshooting, configuring, and commissioning fire alarm systems at commercial customer sites. Technicians must read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and manuals, and understand the sequence of operations for fire alarm and interfaced systems. Physical work includes lifting equipment up to 70 lb, working at heights, and navigating confined spaces while adhering to the Zero Harm safety policy. • Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, and commission fire alarm systems at commercial sites. • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and product manuals. • Perform physical tasks such as lifting 50‑70 lb equipment and working at heights up to 40 ft or in confined spaces. • Work flexible schedules, including weekends, and travel overnight to meet customer needs. • Deliver high‑level customer service and collaborate effectively with team members. • Follow and enforce Zero Harm safety guidelines on all job sites. • Utilize hand tools, test equipment, multimeters, and digital analyzers for system commissioning.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least five years of documented fire alarm system experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to use hand tools, test equipment, and digital analyzers. The position requires flexible hours, weekend work, and occasional overnight travel, as well as a valid driver’s license, background and drug‑test clearance, and basic knowledge of network concepts. Preferred qualifications include an associate degree in electronics, networking, or computer science and NICET Level II certification. • Maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company background/drug‑test requirements. • Possess at least five years of fire alarm system experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. • Demonstrate basic understanding of network concepts and Windows/DOS environments. • Preferred: associate degree in electronics, networking, or computer science. • Preferred: NICET Level II certification (or obtain within first year).
