About the Role

The Engineering Administrative Assistant I provides a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks to ensure the efficient and effective operation of Test Rack. This role supports management and staff by maintaining a well‑organized, productive work environment, allowing the Test Rack team to focus on technical startup testing of units before they are released from production. Key duties include managing and organizing startup test files and records, maintaining both physical and electronic filing systems, preparing and editing correspondence, reports, and presentations that summarize test outcomes, and compiling defect reports on failed startups, missing components, and wiring discrepancies. The assistant also schedules and coordinates meetings, acts as a liaison between production, Test Rack, and Engineering to avoid bottlenecks, monitors unit status, and manages testing supplies, equipment, and inventory. Additional responsibilities involve handling mail and packages, entering data into databases and spreadsheets, using Microsoft Office tools, compiling KPIs such as pass/fail rates, assisting with ad‑hoc projects, maintaining budget and inventory records, reporting process inefficiencies, ensuring the latest SOPs are available, and fostering a positive work environment. • Manage and organize startup test files, documents, and records. • Maintain physical and electronic filing systems for easy retrieval. • Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and presentations summarizing test outcomes. • Compile defect reports on failed startups, missing components, and wiring discrepancies. • Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments across teams. • Serve as liaison between production, Test Rack, and Engineering to prevent bottlenecks. • Monitor unit status and maintain testing supplies, equipment, and inventory. • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages. • Enter and update data in databases, spreadsheets, and other digital systems. • Utilize Microsoft Office tools to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. • Compile key performance indicators such as pass/fail rates and rework frequency. • Assist with ad‑hoc tasks and projects assigned by management. • Maintain records for Test Rack budget and inventory. • Report process inefficiencies to supervisor. • Ensure team has the latest standard operating procedures. • Foster an energetic and positive working environment.

What You Bring

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with administrative experience preferred. Required skills include excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, a confident and decisive personality, strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, high attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and solve problems effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure team setting. The work environment may require lifting up to 50 lb, sitting or standing for up to 95 percent of the workday, and daily visits to a manufacturing facility that experiences seasonal temperature extremes, dust, and occasional chemical fume exposure. • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; administrative experience preferred. • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. • Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and problem‑solving abilities. • Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in varied manufacturing conditions.
