Job Highlights
About the Role
In this position you will oversee the full lifecycle of plumbing design, from concept through construction administration, ensuring alignment with schedule, budget and client expectations. You will coordinate with other disciplines, conduct site assessments, review contractor submittals and support quality control throughout the project. A successful first year includes delivering high‑quality plumbing designs on multiple projects, becoming a trusted technical resource within the discipline, and fostering the growth of junior team members through consistent guidance and knowledge sharing. • Design and document plumbing systems (domestic water, sanitary, storm drainage, medical gas, compressed air, specialty) for high‑performance buildings. • Lead the plumbing discipline on projects, ensuring code compliance, constructability and technical quality. • Perform system layout, sizing calculations, and develop specifications independently. • Coordinate plumbing and medical gas systems with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection teams. • Conduct site visits, review shop drawings, submittals and RFIs, and support construction administration activities. • Mentor entry‑level designers, provide training, and promote knowledge sharing within the team. • Contribute technical input to proposals, narratives and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. • Maintain current knowledge of applicable codes (IPC, IMC, IECC) and emerging plumbing technologies. • Deliver accurate, well‑coordinated documents that support long‑term system performance.
