About the Role
The Accounting Analyst II provides accounting and finance coverage for all WM Area Finance/Accounting teams and Corporate Finance/Accounting departments, supporting projects across various finance functions. The analyst executes moderately complex financial tasks, performs month‑end close activities, prepares journal entries, analyzes general ledger accounts, creates reconciliations, and reports monthly financial results with insights. They collect and analyze financial data for combined statements, coordinate monthly financial packages, evaluate accounting impacts of transactions, participate in review meetings, guide finance personnel on procedures, and maintain internal controls. • Execute moderately complex financial tasks and analytical projects. • Perform month‑end close, prepare low‑to‑high complexity journal entries. • Analyze general ledger accounts and produce monthly/quarterly reconciliations. • Prepare combined monthly financial statements and coordinate financial packages. • Evaluate accounting impacts of potential transactions and support review meetings. • Provide guidance on internal and external accounting procedures and maintain internal controls.
