About the Role

Superintendent I – Summary: Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent I who will coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a specific discipline while developing and enhancing customer relationships through excellent service. • Plan and implement to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support project schedule • Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies • Develop and manage project schedules, including three- and six‑week look‑ahead schedules • Develop a site logistics plan and lead utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment • Collaborate with project partner superintendents • Conduct on‑site project orientations, pre‑construction planning sessions, and site meetings • Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; interview, hire, transfer, and dismiss craft team members as needed • Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project team members • Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards, track work progress and craft productivity • Handle craft team member training and conduct career development discussions • Build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels • Lead team members by example, offer coaching and feedback, manage performance • Provide high‑level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team • Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions and seek process improvements

The role requires up to 100% travel across the United States and cannot guarantee proximity to the candidate’s home. The start date is after January 1, 2026. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience • Minimum 5 years construction management or related experience • Current driver’s license • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies • Active listening and effective communication, openness to diverse input and feedback • Ability to travel up to 100 % • Knowledge of EE‑O, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative action plans
