About the Role

The Assistant Community Manager reports to the Community Manager and oversees day‑to‑day operations, financial functions, and staff supervision for a housing community. In the manager’s absence, the role handles personnel, leasing, maintenance, administration, risk management, and ensures compliance with company policies, safety, and fair‑housing guidelines. • Process and reconcile daily rent payments, post charges, and handle end‑of‑month closing. • Monitor delinquency, issue late notices, contact residents/guarantors, and manage evictions. • Hire, train, coach, and supervise onsite staff while ensuring policy compliance. • Lead leasing activities, implement marketing plans, and develop resident retention programs. • Oversee maintenance requests, conduct property inspections, and manage vendor relationships.

What You Bring

Candidates with at least one year of experience in affordable‑housing programs such as LIHTC, HUD Section 8, USDA Rural Development, or HOME funds are preferred, and certifications like HCCP, HCP‑E, or COS are advantageous but not required. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree or two years of relevant housing experience are preferred. Applicants must be proficient with onsite software, possess basic computer skills, and have knowledge of Fair Housing laws and OSHA requirements. Physical duties include standing or sitting for extended periods, climbing ladders or stairs, lifting up to 25 lb, operating machinery or vehicles, and working overtime, weekends, or in extreme temperatures and weather conditions. • Minimum 1 year affordable‑housing program experience (LIHTC, HUD, USDA, etc.). • High school diploma required; bachelor's preferred; basic computer and Fair Housing knowledge. • Ability to lift/handle up to 25 lb, use ladders, work overtime and in varied environmental conditions.
