About the Role
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment at recycling facilities, landfills, or transfer stations to transfer, spread, cover, load, and compact waste or soil efficiently and safely. The operator conducts pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of equipment, ensuring lights, mirrors, cameras and other controls are clean, and continuously monitors both waste streams for unacceptable material and the equipment’s condition to minimize downtime. They operate various machinery—including forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, and front‑end loaders—following proper safety standards, perform minor service tasks, document equipment condition reports, and report needed repairs to supervisors. The operator also follows all safety policies, keeps the shop clean and organized at shift end, and performs any other assigned duties.

What You Bring
Applicants must have at least two years of heavy‑equipment operation experience and one year working at OSHA‑regulated sites. Strong customer‑service skills, effective time management, and the ability to follow schedules and company policies are required. Candidates should demonstrate honesty, trustworthiness, pride in their work, and a commitment to safety standards. Good follow‑through and a professional, courteous attitude toward customers and coworkers are essential.
