About the Role
The Automation & Control Engineer designs, develops, tests, and maintains automated systems to improve operational efficiency and productivity. This role involves programming PLCs and HMI/SCADA interfaces, selecting sensors and communication technologies, and optimizing workflows across ASU, LNG, and packaged applications. Collaboration with commissioning, manufacturing, and project teams is essential to deliver reliable automation solutions. • Create and modify Siemens PLC programs for ASU, LNG, and packaged applications. • Develop and update HMI/SCADA interfaces for production monitoring. • Design automation systems and select appropriate sensors, vision systems, and communication technologies. • Analyze existing procedures and recommend process improvements. • Maintain and use electrical software tools for design and troubleshooting. • Inspect and verify components against schematics and specifications. • Coordinate corrective actions to prevent or reduce undesired effects. • Maintain technical project files and documentation control. • Communicate design information effectively with manufacturing personnel. • Install, test, and troubleshoot equipment and motor control devices. • Continuously improve existing systems and support new project initiatives. • Adhere to safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices. • Manage task schedules, respond to written and verbal requests, and maintain backup of control programs. • Participate in engineering review meetings and handle project document databases. • Review electrical schematics, enclosure layouts, and component datasheets for compliance. • Perform functional testing of electrical equipment to reduce commissioning time. • Assist project managers and engineers with project activities and documentation. • Create and maintain technical manuals, operation manuals, and SOPs. • Provide technical support to maintenance teams and operators during production and emergencies. • Lead automation projects, set goals, timelines, and deliverables, and mentor junior staff.

What You Bring
The position works in both a professional office setting and a shop‑floor/manufacturing environment, using standard office equipment such as laptops and smartphones. Physical demands include frequent communication, close‑vision tasks, and occasional lifting of files or standing on a stool to access equipment. A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least four years of industrial automation experience are required. Candidates must be proficient with Siemens automation tools (TIA Portal, WinCC Explorer, HMI, VFDs) and possess strong problem‑solving, communication, and project‑management skills. Preferred expertise includes PLC/SCADA programming, sensor integration, motor control, and familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP.
