About the Role

The senior engineer will lead engineering analysis, design, and reporting, mentor junior staff, and connect team members with AECOM experts. Responsibilities also include project management participation, business development support, and building trusted relationships with clients and colleagues. • Provide geotechnical engineering and design for dams, levees, mining, civil works, transportation, and energy projects. • Plan and oversee subsurface investigations, including field and laboratory testing of soil and rock. • Install, monitor, and analyze data from geotechnical instrumentation. • Perform calculations, analyses, and design; prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications; mentor junior engineers. • Deliver onsite field support and oversight during geotechnical and earthwork construction. • Conduct engineering reviews of existing infrastructure and produce evaluation reports. • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and apply engineering judgment to meet client objectives. • Research and implement technical methods, standards, and regulations in engineering tasks. • Assume project responsibility, follow quality procedures, and uphold ethical standards. • Participate in project management activities and pursue project manager roles. • Support business development and project pursuits in Utah and the western United States. • Build trusting relationships with clients and colleagues.

What You Bring

• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (geotechnical) + 6 years relevant experience; valid driver’s license. • Preferred: Master’s degree, 20+ years experience, PE licensure (obtainable in Utah within 3 months), 8+ years consulting experience, 2+ years project management experience. • Proficient with geotechnical software such as Excel, gINT, GeoStudio, PLAXIS, FLAC, UTEXAS, Settle3, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and Visual Basic.
