About the Role
The Journeyman at Bergelectric Corp. installs new electrical systems and repairs existing ones, ensuring compliance with national, state, and local electrical codes and company policies. Work is performed across commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential sites, and the position is classified as safety‑sensitive. The role involves installing, maintaining, and testing electrical systems, using hand and power tools, measuring and installing wiring and conduit, terminating cables, splicing, troubleshooting circuits, building control panels, and drafting schematics. The journeyman also delegates tasks, trains coworkers, coordinates with foremen, manages workflow schedules, maintains professionalism with customers and vendors, and follows all safety policies. • Install, repair, maintain, and test commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems. • Use industry‑related hand and power tools. • Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install wiring, cable, conduit, and raceway systems. • Pull and terminate wires and cables in control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, switchgear, receptacles, and switches. • Splice and terminate wires at junction points. • Troubleshoot electrical equipment and control circuits; build control panels from drawings. • Prepare sketches and schematic diagrams of wiring and electrical system locations. • Delegate tasks and train other employees. • Maintain workflow schedules to meet productivity objectives. • Adhere to all Bergelectric safety policies and procedures. • Install power systems including lighting, fire protection, security, and data networks. • Build and install control panels and perform system maintenance. • Use electrical single‑line blueprints. • Diagnose and repair faults in electrical apparatus and circuits. • Verify compliance and functionality of installations. • Assist in project and crew management. • Manage material estimates.

What You Bring
Candidates must possess a current Journeyman Wireman license where required and be capable of installing power, lighting, fire protection, security, and data systems. Experience with single‑line blueprints, fault detection, control‑panel construction, material estimating, and project crew management is essential, as is strong leadership and pre‑planning ability. The job requires lifting and pulling up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, pulling wire, bending conduit, and working in a squatting or kneeling position while wearing a 25 lb tool belt. Employees must stand for extended periods, work from ladders, man lifts or booms, and operate in varied weather conditions and high‑noise environments. • Communicate effectively with foremen and crew members. • Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy with colleagues, customers, and vendors. • Hold a current Journeyman Wireman license where required. • Exhibit strong leadership and pre‑planning abilities.
