Job Highlights
What You Bring
Technician Apprentices at Republic Services maintain fleet performance and quality, performing routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. The apprenticeship program trains entry‑level technicians over two years in electrical diagnostics, HVAC, wheel end, air system, brake, and hydraulic inspections, as well as truck preventive maintenance. Successful apprentices are logical problem solvers who are enthusiastic about vehicle engineering and uphold the company's values. The Technical Institute also teaches critical life and leadership skills while building professional networks across the company. Each apprentice receives a dedicated mentor and, after placement, direct supervision from a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor or Manager, gaining hands‑on experience in routine preventive maintenance, tire work, wheel end components, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Candidates must commit to completing the two‑year program, demonstrate logical problem‑solving abilities and an interest in engineering, and be willing to work flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends, or holidays. They must uphold Republic Services’ safety, ethics, and respect values, travel to and live in Dallas for the initial training, and be prepared to relocate nationwide after graduation.
