About the Role

The Pipefitter will plan, layout, and execute all types of pipe fitting and fabrication work in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. The role may also involve working in other crafts as appropriate to training and skill level, under the direction of a foreman or higher‑skilled worker. The position emphasizes continuous improvement through knowledge sharing, waste elimination, and strong trade mathematics. Responsibilities include inspecting subordinates' work for accuracy, fostering positive crew relationships, maintaining effective verbal and written communication, delivering high‑quality work safely and productively, and providing feedback to ensure necessary tools and information are available. • Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time. • Inspect subordinates' work, ensure accuracy and compliance with plans/specifications, explain deficiencies and take corrective action. • Maintain positive working relationships with all crew members. • Produce high quality work safely and productively at all times. • Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment and information are available for the work. • Read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards; effectively utilize trade tools and equipment. • Stoop, kneel, or bend occasionally. • Use telephone, computer, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis for communication with internal and external customers or vendors. • Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas. • Comply with all safety standards and procedures. • Use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects frequently. • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. • Lift, push or pull objects up to 50 lb occasionally.

What You Bring

Candidates must be able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and safety standards, and proficiently use all relevant trade tools and equipment. Required experience ranges from three years for entry‑level (Level I) up to six-plus years for senior‑level (Level Sr.) positions within industrial or commercial construction, coupled with a deep understanding of the pipefitter trade. The role involves substantial physical demands, including wearing required personal protective equipment, frequent reaching, stooping, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lb, as well as working in confined, uneven, or outdoor environments for up to 12‑hour shifts. Compliance with all safety standards and procedures is mandatory, and the position is classified as safety‑sensitive. • Demonstrate high proficiency in trade mathematics. • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills. • Three years (Level I), four years (Level II), five years (Level III), six+ years (Level Sr.) experience in industrial/commercial construction with in‑depth pipefitter trade knowledge. • Wear required personal protective equipment (steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.). • Reach above shoulder height and below waist frequently. • Work up to a 12‑hour shift performing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
