About the Role

The Superintendent ensures that materials, equipment, and inspections are scheduled to support the project timeline, reviews construction documents for completeness and constructability, and coordinates plans with design engineers. They develop and manage the project schedule and site logistics, collaborate with partner superintendents, and lead a team through coaching, orientations, and performance management. Additionally, they oversee task coding, track work progress, and drive safety, quality, risk, and compliance initiatives while seeking process improvements. • Plan and schedule materials, equipment, and inspections to align with project timelines. • Review construction documents for completeness, constructability, and contract compliance. • Coordinate plans with design engineers and partner superintendents. • Develop and manage project schedules and site logistics. • Coach, supervise, and develop team members, including hiring and performance management. • Ensure proper task coding, track work progress, and oversee training initiatives. • Lead safety, quality, risk, and compliance programs and pursue process improvements. • Maintain strong customer relationships through excellent service.

This position is available at both level 1 and level 2, with compensation based on experience and location. Candidates must hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction‑related fields or possess 10 years of trade experience, have a current driver’s license, and be able to manage multiple complex projects from development to closeout. Required skills include detail‑orientation, basic knowledge of construction law, intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency, strong communication, customer service, and the ability to travel up to 100 %. Knowledge of EE O, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative‑action plans is also required. Superintendent I requires a minimum of 5 years of construction management experience with a base pay range of $111,400–$167,100. Superintendent II requires at least 8 years of experience with a base range of $130,100–$195,200, higher in Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, DC. Compensation is positioned within the range based on knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity, and the role is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
