About the Role
Your Impact Starts Here – are you ready to tackle some of the most complex and rewarding environmental health and safety challenges in the industry? In this role you will support clients across the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa and Southwestern Ontario, helping them manage hazardous materials, protect worker health, and create safer, healthier buildings and workplaces. You will support clients in maintaining compliance with occupational health, safety, construction and environmental regulations by carrying out field assessments, monitoring programs and clear documentation. This includes conducting building assessments for asbestos, lead and mould, providing on‑site inspection and oversight during remediation projects, performing occupational exposure assessments, and investigating indoor air quality and drinking‑water quality. You will also analyze airborne fibre samples, prepare technically sound reports and data summaries, and help clients make informed decisions. • Conduct building assessments for hazardous materials (asbestos, lead, mould) and safely collect samples. • Perform on‑site inspections and oversight during hazardous‑material remediation, including contractor monitoring and air sampling. • Carry out occupational exposure assessments for chemical, biological and physical hazards. • Investigate indoor air quality and potable water quality, providing evidence‑based recommendations. • Analyze airborne fibre samples and produce accurate reports for asbestos and fibre assessments. • Prepare technical reports and data summaries to support project managers and clients. • Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients while promoting a strong health‑and‑safety culture.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate has completed a college diploma or university degree in occupational hygiene, environmental science, environmental engineering or a closely related discipline, and brings consulting experience or equivalent knowledge in occupational hygiene, environmental science or construction. A solid understanding of Ontario occupational health and safety, construction and environmental legislation, experience with hazardous‑material surveys and preferably exposure to airborne fibre analysis are required. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, comfort using hand tools, ladders and lifting up to 50 lb, self‑motivation, ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, and willingness to travel frequently across Ontario are essential. Compensation follows WSP’s national pay transparency framework with salary ranges of $57,500‑$76,200 in AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT, $52,500‑$72,300 in MB & ON, and $52,000‑$69,000 in NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC. Final salary may vary based on education, experience, certifications, seniority, location and business needs.
