About the Role

Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent responsible for coordination, planning, and supervision of assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a specific discipline. The role also focuses on developing and enhancing customer relationships through excellent service. Candidates may apply for either Level 1 or Level 2 positions, with compensation based on experience and location. • Plan and implement material, equipment, and inspection schedules to support project timelines. • Review construction documents for completeness, constructability, and contract compliance; coordinate with design engineers. • Develop and manage project schedules and site logistics; collaborate with partner superintendents. • Coach, supervise, and develop team members; conduct orientations, planning sessions, and site meetings; handle hiring and staffing actions. • Ensure proper task coding, track work progress, provide training, and conduct career development discussions. • Build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels. • Lead by example, provide coaching, feedback, and performance management. • Manage safety, quality, risk, and compliance; identify and mitigate unfavorable conditions; pursue process improvements. • Comply with Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative action plans.

Level 1 requires a minimum of five years of construction management experience and offers a base pay range of $111,400‑$167,100; Level 2 requires at least eight years and provides $130,100‑$195,200. Pay ranges are adjusted upward in certain locations (e.g., Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Washington, D.C.) and are positioned according to knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
