About the Role
• Process BESS, spares and tools according to ISO standards • Perform pre‑ and post‑deployment inspections and testing • Diagnose, coordinate and execute repairs of mobile BESS units • Conduct scheduled maintenance and manage compliant BESS transport • Provide ad‑hoc technical support and on‑call coverage for projects • Troubleshoot systems remotely and on‑site to minimise downtime • Support rapid mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment • Set up mobile BESS at customer sites, verifying electrical connections, earthing and safety • Configure system parameters for specific applications and oversee safe shutdown • Act as technical liaison between customers, L1 support, business development and engineering • Deliver training, handover support and assist with demonstrations or pilot projects • Complete service reports, fault logs and deployment records • Contribute to development of standard operating procedures • Promote health, safety, wellbeing and sustainable practices in daily work

What You Bring
The Portable Power team is seeking a skilled engineer based at the Portsmouth facility, who will support asset management, project installation and technical customer assistance across sectors such as construction, events, utilities and medical. The role involves becoming a product specialist for mobile BESS and temporary power, and requires regular travel to customer sites. • Hold an Electrical Engineer degree or hands‑on electrician experience • 2–5+ years experience in temporary power, energy storage or field service • BS7671 certification and valid full UK driving licence • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills • Knowledge of mobile/containerised BESS, hybrid‑microgrid systems, inverters, PCS, BMS, EMS, SCADA and AC/DC power distribution • (Desired) BS7909 qualification, CSCS Gold Card, forklift licence, Dangerous Goods qualification • Adaptable mindset with a solution‑oriented attitude
