About the Role

In this high‑level role the director provides management review and control over multiple engineering units, integrating specialized areas to serve business segments and directing major engineering programs. The position reports within the matrix organization covering Critical Facilities, BET, FMCX, and ICT, and offers a flexible work schedule (Monday‑Thursday in‑office, Friday remote) plus a supportive culture and social events. Key responsibilities include building and staffing a regional team, coordinating market‑sector activities, generating new revenue and expanding existing streams, and maintaining client satisfaction. The director will develop networks with owners, architects, PM/CM firms, and general contractors, track leads, forecast pipelines, ensure technical excellence, resolve client or internal issues, and lead strategic recruitment of senior staff while acting as an industry‑recognized expert through speaking engagements and white papers. • Generate new revenue and increase existing streams within the market focus • Network with prospective clients, owners, architects, and general contractors • Track leads for major projects and assist GEO director with pipeline forecasting • Keep team members at the technical forefront of their practice areas • Collaborate with GEO directors on staffing and project pursuits • Ensure technical excellence of project delivery and resolve complex issues • Address client or partner complaints and internal technical/financial challenges • Strategically recruit senior staff with market‑specific experience • Act as an industry‑recognized expert, delivering speaking engagements and white papers

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience), a PE license, and at least 15 years of design experience with 5+ years in consulting engineering, plus 7+ years of management and business development experience. Strong leadership, relationship‑building, communication, and organizational skills are required, as well as deep MEP knowledge and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience) • 15+ years of design experience; minimum 5 years in consulting or A/E firm • Minimum 7 years of management experience • 7+ years of business development experience in engineering • Thorough knowledge of MEP systems • Professional Engineer (PE) registration required • Effective team player able to work independently or collaboratively • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
