Assistant Sustainability Manager - Carbon Modeller
Support carbon modelling, sustainability, and reporting for a major infrastructure programme

About the Role
The role supports carbon modelling for a major infrastructure programme, collaborating with design, engineering and client teams to drive low‑carbon innovation and PAS 2080 compliance. It helps deliver the programme’s carbon strategy, embeds sustainability across all phases, and contributes to Mace’s “Pursue a Sustainable World” ambition through knowledge‑sharing and upskilling. The position requires traveling to site 2‑3 days per week in Peterborough, with flexible work‑from‑home days; travel and car allowances are included in the package. • Support client‑facing sustainability and climate‑change activities. • Manage carbon modelling and reporting for innovation opportunities. • Embed carbon in design, procurement and delivery. • Apply whole‑life carbon principles to project development. • Analyse baselines, emissions and reduction opportunities. • Deliver accurate monthly carbon reporting. • Support environmental considerations in design. • Drive innovation, work‑winning and strong client relationships. • Safety first – champion a safe, diverse, inclusive environment and ensure everyone goes home safe and well. • Create opportunity – champion continuous improvement and inspire people to develop.

What You Bring
• Degree in sustainability or environmental discipline with strong carbon‑modelling experience. • Knowledge of PAS 2080, ISO 14001 and UK environmental regulations. • Skilled in translating technical topics and driving sustainable behaviours. • Strong communication, problem‑solving and stakeholder engagement skills; professional membership desirable.
