About the Role
Key duties include interpreting load charts and hand signals, performing routine maintenance and cleaning of tools, conducting daily equipment inspections, refueling, and assessing wear, as well as preparing and leveling surfaces to precise specifications. The operator also assists other craft workers and reports any malfunctioning equipment to supervisors. • Read and interpret load charts. • Follow hand signals to place materials accurately. • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment. • Conduct daily equipment inspections, check fluids, refuel, and assess component wear. • Report malfunctioning equipment to supervisors. • Prepare, fine‑tune, and level surfaces to specifications. • Assist other craft workers as needed. • Operate cars, trucks, forklifts, and other equipment. • Use hand and power tools (electric, gas, pneumatic) of all types. • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, ladders, and scaffolds. • Perform tasks involving bending, crawling, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, and standing on uneven or muddy surfaces. • Work in confined spaces and adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain). • Read, write, and comprehend directions and safety policies. • Pay close attention to details.

What You Bring
The Dirt and Finish Operator must hold certification and be capable of operating equipment such as a track hoe, rubber‑tire backhoe, front‑end loader, road grader, bulldozer, hoe ram, and Ross carrier. The role requires learning and applying safety procedures for all tools and equipment and may be performed in plant operations or construction job‑site environments. Physical demands involve lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), repetitive hand and arm use, climbing and balancing on steel or wood frameworks, ladders, and scaffolds, and working on uneven, muddy, or loose surfaces. The position may require prolonged bending, crawling, kneeling, squatting, and exposure to confined spaces and adverse weather conditions. The role requires clear communication with management and supervision, the ability to read, write, and comprehend safety directions, concentration amid distractions, sound decision‑making, and meticulous attention to detail. • Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb). • Communicate effectively with management and supervision.
