About the Role

The Associate Property Manager assists the Property Manager with general administration and daily operations of the apartment community. They are cross‑trained to act in the manager’s absence and help maintain the physical asset to achieve maximum net operating income. They also monitor regulatory compliance and enforce company policies. The role supports timely use of on‑site PC‑based property management software and trains both new and existing staff. It helps ensure efficient property operation in line with loss‑prevention and corporate procedures, even during understaffed periods. The associate also responds to emergencies, contacting appropriate agencies or regional managers as needed. Tasks include preparing purchase orders, coding and processing vendor invoices, and following up on payment inquiries. The associate maintains knowledge of maintenance programs, creates service orders for resident calls, and tracks request progress to keep residents informed. They ensure all service requests are completed promptly. Leasing duties involve understanding leasing policies, meeting prospective residents, interviewing them for eligibility, and showing vacant and model units. The associate quotes rental rates, follows up on applications, collects application fees and security deposits, and conducts move‑in and move‑out inspections to assess damages and market readiness. Rent collection responsibilities include verifying payments, reconciling discrepancies, depositing checks, and reporting to corporate. What You Bring

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED; an associate degree in Property Management or Accounting/Bookkeeping is preferred. Candidates need 1–2 years of experience in leasing, bookkeeping, or operations, a valid driver’s license (depending on property needs), and up to 10% travel.
