About the Role
The role is a 9‑month Fixed Term Contract for an experienced Application Support Specialist based at the Geelong Refinery. It is a key position responsible for keeping business‑critical applications running reliably, securely and at peak performance. The specialist will own operations, support and continuous improvement of major enterprise industrial applications in a fast‑moving, future‑focused environment. • Ensure applications operate reliably and meet service level agreements aligned with ITIL and business criticality. • Perform proactive monitoring, incident triage, troubleshooting and lifecycle management of platforms. • Manage upgrades, deployments and decommissioning in line with vendor roadmaps. • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, platform owners and end‑users. • Maintain documentation, knowledge bases and technical runbooks. • Provide on‑call support for critical after‑hours incidents. • Identify and implement automation opportunities for continuous service improvement. • Participate in design, build, test and release processes for platform enhancements. • Act as a key technical resource within cross‑functional agile teams. • Prepare requirements, design documents, test plans and as‑built artefacts. • Support delivery of major multi‑stream programs and solution assessments. • Contribute technical input for training materials and platform readiness. • Contribute to architectural patterns, ensuring changes align with enterprise architecture principles. • Support technology strategy, platform roadmaps and architecture forums. • Collaborate with cyber security teams to meet security strategy and remediate gaps. • Maintain security baselines including patching, disaster recovery, identity and access management, data protection and vulnerability management. • Support audits, risk assessments and compliance reporting. • Define and execute technical controls to improve platform resilience. • Support and deploy commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) vendor platforms. • Work with API‑driven architectures, SSIS, Azure Data Factory and SQL development. • Manage Windows Server, IIS, SOE, Active Directory, Group Policy and SCCM packaging. • Deploy and manage cloud services on Azure, including app hosting, databases and virtualization. • Troubleshoot across middleware, infrastructure and security layers. • Utilise documentation tools (e.g., Confluence) and source control systems (e.g., Bitbucket). • Share knowledge and manage stakeholder expectations effectively. • Apply ITIL knowledge for incident, problem and change management. • Navigate both agile and waterfall project environments. • Maintain a strong desire to upskill and adopt new technologies.

What You Bring
In this role you will apply at least five years of application support experience, using ITIL incident and change management practices to proactively monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues across a diverse environment. You will collaborate with vendors, product owners, cloud engineers and security teams, contributing to lifecycle management and system enhancements within an agile delivery model. • Provide 5+ years of experience supporting large‑scale, 24x7 operationally critical systems. • Demonstrate hands‑on expertise with SQL Server, Oracle, Azure SQL and Dataverse. • Prefer experience with Power Platform and AVEVA PI systems. • Understand systems architecture, configuration and cloud migration processes.
