About the Role
The Safety Officer will support a comprehensive environmental safety, health and risk program, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local safety regulations across assigned facilities. Duties include inspections, paperwork, waste sampling, monitoring contractors, accident investigations, and coordination of safety audits and training. The position pays $41.09 hourly and requires onsite/in‑office work. • Conduct safety inspections, training, and evaluations to ensure compliance. • Lead safety training for all organizational levels. • Assist management with root‑cause investigations and report preparation. • Coordinate safety audits, inspections, and related processes. • Develop site‑specific and new safety procedures. • Perform air sampling, monitoring, and generate required reports. • Execute Job Hazard Analysis (JHA, AHA) programs. • Identify safety issues and recommend corrective actions. • Monitor procurement, storage, use, and disposal of hazardous and non‑hazardous materials. • Serve as a member of the Spill Response Team. • Operate company or customer motor vehicles and equipment responsibly. • Support snow team and other departments with overtime as needed.

What You Bring
• High school diploma or GED required. • Minimum five years of relevant experience. • Relevant safety certifications and knowledge of EPA, MDE, OSHA, NFPA, IBC codes. • Ability to wear a respirator and lift 50 lb solo (75 lb team lift). • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimal supervision. • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for required intelligence‑community clearance. • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. • Ability to pass background check, drug screening and obtain required clearance.
