About the Role
The General Sales & Marketing role combines direct and remote sales activities with the development of marketing strategies. It involves assessing customer requirements, recommending suitable products or solutions, and managing the product/brand profit‑and‑loss with budgeting, expenditures and ROI. The incumbent may also handle customer service tasks such as price information, billing, shipping and complaint resolution, and compensation is linked to sales target achievement. A Senior Professional (P3) is expected to work independently, manage projects, and coach junior staff on complex issues. Key responsibilities include preparing technical and commercial offers based on customer specifications, defining solution costs, and ensuring completion of project risk‑review documentation in line with Hitachi Energy policies. The role requires coordination with internal functions to analyse legal, contractual and cost risks, as well as participation in project kickoff meetings and technical inspections. The specialist will analyse market and competitor information, conduct lost‑proposal analysis, and define the technical and financial components of bids, selecting appropriate technology, configurations and consortium agreements. Negotiations with customers on technical, contractual and commercial terms, as well as compliance with internal and external regulations, are also integral, while upholding Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity values. • Conduct face-to-face and remote sales to new and existing customers. • Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions. • Develop and execute marketing strategies for products and brands. • Manage product/brand P&L, budgeting, profitability and ROI. • Prepare technical and commercial proposals based on specifications and cost analysis. • Lead kickoff meetings and ensure completion of project risk‑review documentation. • Coordinate analysis of legal, contractual and cost implications with internal functions. • Perform market and competitor analysis and lost‑proposal reviews. • Define technology selections, configurations and consortium agreements for bids. • Negotiate technical, contractual and commercial terms with customers and partners. • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity values. • Provide technical support to sales managers during customer meetings.

What You Bring
Ideal candidates hold an engineering degree (electrical) or equivalent, possess 12‑14 years of sales and marketing experience and 8‑10 years as a tendering engineer. They should have deep knowledge of GIS substation equipment, utilities tendering processes, and be proficient in MS Excel, Word and preferably SFDC. Strong communication, business acumen, time‑management and fluency in spoken and written English are required. • Hold an engineering degree (electrical) with 12‑14 years sales & marketing experience. • Have 8‑10 years as a tendering engineer and expertise in GIS substation equipment. • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, SFDC and possess strong communication and English skills.
