About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant within the Yunex Traffic UK business. This role will provide financial support and governance to our Research & Development (R&D) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) functions. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Administration and Project Management teams to ensure the achievement of financial and business objectives, reporting to the Finance Manager for Projects and Systems and collaborating with the Engineering Director. The role involves completing month‑end activities accurately and timely, producing monthly reports, and delivering analysis that influences business performance. You will partner with operational management to drive efficiencies, provide financial insights for R&D reviews, and ensure cost controls and invoicing follow Yunex policy and ICFR requirements. • Complete month‑end processes including accruals, prepayments, margin reviews, cost and recovery analysis. • Produce management accounting pack covering project spend, warranty spend, AWS spend, headcount reports and cost‑centre analysis. • Present financial insights at quarterly R&D reviews. • Partner with operational management to provide accurate monthly forecasts for cost‑centre spend, department performance and HQ work, ensuring timely budget preparation. • Provide detailed analysis and financial insights to support strategy development, procedural improvements and efficiency gains. • Analyse innovation opportunities, evaluating returns, business‑strategy alignment and risk to guide funding decisions. • Maintain effective control of financial administration and invoicing, adhering to ICFR requirements and Yunex policy. • Ensure cost controls are in place, approving and tracking spend, and analyse purchase orders for timely supplier payments. • Work with the Finance Manager to control and report lower‑value projects, maximising sales and margin. • Capture and report non‑conformance from project delivery, identify root causes and implement corrective actions. • Lead R&D tax claim process with external auditors, providing supporting information to maximise claimable amount. • Liaise with other Yunex entities to agree charging for resources, licences and work packages. • Collaborate with business areas to understand resourcing needs and departmental funding. • Identify and solve day‑to‑day and longer‑term problems within your area of expertise.

What You Bring

• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA) or part‑qualified and actively working towards qualification. • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and solid working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications. • Working knowledge of SAP preferred. • Ability to collaborate with all business disciplines and explain financial data to non‑finance professionals. • Demonstrated ownership of processes and drive toward results. • Proven initiative in seeking improvement opportunities.
