About the Role

The Assistant Property Manager supports the community by handling accounting functions and assisting with administration, leasing, and personnel supervision. This role is essential to maintaining efficient operations and resident satisfaction within the community. • Collect and secure rental payments • Scan daily bank deposits and verify accuracy • Assist Community Director with daily rate approvals in Yieldstar • Input daily activity transactions in Yardi and clear validations • Prepare accounting records and reports, including deposit accounting and monthly close‑out • Verify accuracy of move‑outs for integration with rental collection company • Deliver late rent letters and vacate notices; contact residents with unpaid rent daily • Manage bad debt collection until resolved • Assist in eviction process following municipal policies • Enter activity into YARDI for daily, weekly, and monthly checklists and Skip Watch information • Support Community Director with Apartment Ratings responses • Help team achieve positive SatisFact scores • Assist with leasing duties, including showing apartments and preparing e‑sign leases • Maintain organized community office files • Prepare accurate and complete reports timely • Handle or assist with work orders for resident service requests • Inspect vacant apartments and prepare them for market‑ready status • Promote resident retention through renewal program • Perform periodic inspections of common areas, including balconies/patios • Report observed maintenance problems • Assist planning and preparation of resident functions • Follow operations manual policies and procedures • Comply with company safety policies and use required safety equipment • Provide courteous service to residents, prospects, and co‑workers • Maintain reliable transportation for meetings and supply purchases • Ensure communication availability for emergencies

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or equivalent, possesses strong mathematical and communication skills, and is proficient in Microsoft Office and property management software such as Yardi. Leadership abilities, a valid driver’s license, and preferably apartment management experience are also required. • Maintain knowledge of leasing and management laws (Fair Housing, collections, evictions, towing, pool enclosures) • Be available for overtime, weekends, holidays, and evenings • Be willing to be assigned to other Highmark communities as needed • Travel and overnight stays may be required • High school diploma or equivalent • Strong mathematical skills for pro‑rations, bank deposits, etc. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook, and internet use • Apartment management experience preferred • Strong proficiency in property management software (preferably Yardi) • Leadership and team‑building abilities • Valid driver’s license
