About the Role

The position follows a Monday‑through‑Friday schedule with a rotating Saturday shift once a month, covering afternoon to evening shifts at the Lake City, GA repair shop. As an Assistant Diesel Mechanic you will service trucks and equipment that serve millions of customers nationwide, using modern tools to maintain both diesel and, at some sites, CNG fleets. The role requires adherence to safety standards, accurate documentation, and collaboration with senior mechanics to ensure high‑quality repairs. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a wide range of vehicles • Estimate time and material costs for repairs and new parts • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs) and respond to emergency breakdown calls • Conduct safety checks and complete required paperwork documenting parts usage and labor • Assist senior mechanics on project work and handle Driver Vehicle Inspection Report repairs • Maintain a clean, OSHA‑compliant work area and follow established safety procedures

Candidates must have at least two years of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, be 18 or older, legally authorized to work in the United States, and able to meet the physical demands of the job.
