About the Role
The role involves operating a crawler or rubber‑tired machine equipped with a loader bucket to load structures, dirt, trucks, pipe, and precast concrete from excavation sites. The operator must prepare the equipment, safely operate the loader, coordinate with truck drivers for loading and unloading, avoid hazards, perform routine maintenance, and adhere to company safety policies. • Check oil, water, fuel, tires, and hydraulic system and adjust to ensure proper operating condition before heading to the job site. • Conduct safety and maintenance checks on assigned equipment and machinery. • Start engines and operate throttles, switches, levers, and pedals to run the machines. • Signal truck drivers to position trucks for loading or unloading dirt, rocks, and other materials. • Take actions to avoid hazards such as utility lines, other equipment, and falling objects. • Perform equipment maintenance including oiling, greasing, and necessary adjustments. • Maintain a professional appearance. • Follow the company’s safety policies and procedures as outlined in the safety manual.
