About the Role
The General Store Associate is responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of Hutton's General Store, delivering exceptional service to members, guests, and team members. This includes greeting guests promptly, anticipating their needs, processing transactions with the point‑of‑sale system, and driving sales through strong relationship building and knowledge of current fashion trends. The associate must also manage packaging standards, provide gift‑wrapping and thank‑you notes, assist with purchases, returns, and special orders, and answer phones professionally while maintaining a clean and organized store environment. • Execute daily operations of the General Store. • Greet members and guests promptly and anticipate their needs. • Process sales transactions using the POS system and drive revenue through relationship building. • Maintain store presentation by folding apparel tightly, tucking tags, steaming garments, and keeping the floor clean. • Provide gift‑wrapping, thank‑you notes, and ensure packaging standards are met. • Assist members with purchases, returns, and special orders. • Answer and redirect phone calls in a professional manner. • Utilize Excel and Microsoft Office for reporting and inventory tasks. • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What You Bring
Candidates should have one to three years of retail operations and customer service experience, with at least six months in a fast‑paced, luxury hospitality setting. Familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems such as Jonus or TEI, as well as proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, is required. Basic knowledge of the golf, boutique, or specialty retail industry and a strong attention to detail are essential. The role demands a positive attitude, professional demeanor, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required, along with the ability to remain calm during busy periods, work effectively in a team, and meet physical demands such as standing for long periods, working outdoors in varying weather, and lifting items up to fifty pounds. • Meet physical requirements such as standing over eight hours and lifting up to 50 pounds.
