About the Role

• Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are managed. • Preparing and delivering presentations and reports to clients and senior management. • Conducting ASHRAE Level II and III audits for a variety of building sectors: universities, schools, hospitals, multifamily, and municipalities. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes. • Providing technical assistance to customers, contractors, and other stakeholders including support with energy savings calculations and meeting program requirements. • Providing guidance and support on technical challenges, project execution, and professional growth. • Leading initiatives to enhance the team’s efficiency, productivity, and quality of work. • Deploying metering equipment and analyzing large data sets to validate baseline and replacement equipment operation. • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of junior and mid-level energy engineers. • Implementing best practices in project management, risk assessment, and quality control. • Keeping directors aware of project schedules and progress and providing regular time charging/budget updates as requested. • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners. • Overseeing and managing energy engineering projects from conception to completion. • Ensuring projects meet technical requirements, budget requirements, and timelines. • Developing and reviewing energy efficiency calculations, assumptions, and technical reports. • Fostering a culture of continuous learning, encouraging team members to pursue certifications, attend conferences, and participate in professional development activities.

What You Bring

• Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with a passion for developing talent. • CEM or CEA accreditation (or equivalent) is a plus. • 7-10 years of experience with energy analysis, energy modeling, ASHRAE Level I, II or III energy auditing, and technical report writing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role. • Experience in electrification and energy efficiency recommendations including measures such as heat pump installations, HVAC upgrades and controls, lighting retrofits and controls, envelope improvements, motor replacement and controls, and refrigeration systems. • Technical proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., eQUEST, Trane Trace/3D Plus, EnergyPro, EnergyPlus) and spreadsheet-based analysis techniques, project management tools, and industry-standard engineering software. • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Energy). Other engineering disciplines will be considered. • Exceptional project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. • Team-oriented, hands-on, highly skilled, adaptive, and client-focused. • PE accreditation is preferred. • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges. • Knowledge of building systems commissioning, HVAC design, energy efficiency technologies, green building and high-performance design. Hands on experience with mechanical systems is a strong plus.
