About the Role
The role supports the fabrication division by performing machine repair, maintenance and troubleshooting, assisting the safety team with machine guards, and advising the Branch Manager on equipment purchases and installation. Safety is a top priority; employees are expected to lead and uphold safety policies, practices and housekeeping standards at all times. • Adhere to Nucor safety programs and OSHA standards • Perform routine maintenance for safe, optimal equipment operation • Troubleshoot, repair, and modify equipment to ensure safety and efficiency • Generate parts lists and labor time estimates for repairs • Train teammates on new or modified equipment • Maintain accurate repair records • Apply occupational safety knowledge to ensure compliance and improve processes

What You Bring
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States, be at least 18 years old, and demonstrate strong attention to detail, communication, electrical and mechanical knowledge, dependability, occupational safety awareness, problem‑solving, teamwork, and time‑management skills. Preferred qualifications include a two‑year technical degree, training in electrical controls, welding, crane operation and rigging, experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical maintenance, ability to read schematics, familiarity with OSHA standards, and proven teamwork and communication abilities. • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship • Must be 18 years or older • Attention to detail in task completion • Effective communication skills • Basic electrical theory and troubleshooting knowledge • Dependable and reliable • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools • Strong problem‑solving abilities • Time‑management for personal and others’ tasks • Two‑year technical degree from an accredited institution • Training in electrical controls, welding, mobile crane operation, and rigging • Experience installing and programming electrical safety devices • Two years’ experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance • Two years’ experience in electrical maintenance and repairs • Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards • Ability to work collaboratively toward common goals • Demonstrated communication skills for coordinating teammates and scheduling maintenance
