About the Role
The Assembly Technician assembles, wires, and modifies medium and high voltage indoor and outdoor assemblies, breaker and auxiliary compartments, power modules, and related sub‑assemblies according to specified guidelines. The role operates in an environment that encourages creativity, invention, and discovery, allowing professionals to reach their full potential while contributing to the company's success. Work is performed using manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, and instructions from supervisors or team leads, following established procedures. Technicians complete ISO, quality, customer checklists, feedback forms, and production lists as required for supervision, drafting, customer service, and engineering. They mount and install electrical equipment, perform wire operations, regularly lift and assemble heavy copper parts, and report any shortages to the appropriate Kanban inventory operators. Assemblies are inspected for loose or missing hardware and cleanliness, and technicians respond to change notices, customer‑requested adjustments, and development needs. The position also supports engineering, drafting, and supervision with customer‑initiated development work and may train or coach colleagues to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of manufacturing experience in an industrial environment, and be proficient with hand and air tools. Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive abilities, and analytical problem‑solving skills are required, along with the ability to work effectively within a team and flexible hours or overtime as business needs dictate. Employees utilize various hand and power tools, step ladders, and cranes to assemble and verify quality in a Lean environment, and must be competent with standard computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook/Teams and job‑specific software like ENOVIA. Physical demands include regularly standing, walking, sitting, reaching above shoulder level, gripping, and handling components, as well as frequent stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds or more. Vision requirements encompass far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination, and employees must regularly listen and speak as part of their duties. • Require high school diploma/GED and at least 1 year industrial manufacturing experience. • Must work in the U.S. without sponsorship; reside within 50 mi of Greenwood, SC (military exemption); no relocation assistance. • Demonstrate strong communication, analytical problem‑solving, teamwork, and willingness to work flexible hours/overtime. • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook/Teams, ENOVIA, and various hand/power tools in a Lean environment. • Physically able to stand, walk, lift/carry up to 50 lb, use step ladder or crane, and meet vision and hearing requirements.
