About the Role
As the Lead IT Service Architect you will develop HS2’s IT service architecture and transition capabilities, ensuring the strategic application of live services to meet business needs, owning the service domain architecture, and aligning guardrails and standards with enterprise‑wide IT strategy and policies. In this role you will be accountable for IT Service Architecture and Service Transition, planning and leading activities to design high‑quality, cost‑efficient services that meet business objectives; developing enterprise‑wide policies, patterns, processes and guardrails; establishing and managing the Service Architecture practice; leading the definition and maturity of Service Architecture frameworks; planning and driving scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation within Infrastructure & Operations; leading service design with senior leadership and stakeholders; overseeing the service transition lifecycle; maintaining an IT service catalogue; and managing interfaces and dependencies across HS2 sub‑capabilities. • Enterprise and business architecture: align service architecture to enterprise‑wide architecture and IT strategy. • Emerging technology monitoring: identify and assess new technologies and their relevance to HS2. • Business situation analysis: investigate business situations to identify problems, opportunities and recommend improvements. • Business process improvement: manage execution of process improvements and create disruptive approaches to business activities. • Service catalogue management: contribute to design and implementation of a service catalogue and advise on related processes. • Stakeholder relationship management: develop, manage and enhance customer and stakeholder relationships, disseminate information and implement communication plans.

Benefits
Base salary ranges from £54,878 to £64,562 per annum depending on skills and experience, with an additional flexible benefits fund of 20% paid on top of the base salary and fully pensionable, plus a suite of competitive benefits listed on the website.
