About the Role
We have an opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer in Canberra supporting the Defence Digital Group. This hands‑on technical role involves capability development, design, build, maintenance and configuration of security systems and services. • Design, build and implement security and network management systems. • Administer and maintain cyber/network security appliances (firewalls, gateways, etc.) across physical and virtual environments. • Provide technical support for technologies and systems. • Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Group Policy). • Validate security controls and practices for environments and systems.

What You Bring
• Extensive technical experience designing, deploying and maintaining cybersecurity systems and capabilities. • Familiarity with the Defence Cybersecurity Assessment and Authorisation framework and its requirements. • Experience implementing ISM Security Controls in Windows and Linux environments. • Working knowledge of networking, storage and virtualization. • Experience preparing technical and security documentation. • Current Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance (and potential ITAR compliance). • Meaningful work contributing to critical Defence projects that protect Australia.
