About the Role
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for retail construction projects, including new builds, remodels, tenant improvements, and renovations. • Interpret drawings and specifications to assess scope, materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing. • Support benchmarking by analyzing historical cost data and industry trends. • Develop and maintain cost databases and indexes tracking regional pricing fluctuations. • Monitor construction costs, provide variance analysis, and ensure budget adherence. • Perform value engineering to meet budget goals without sacrificing quality. • Assist in soliciting, evaluating, and reviewing subcontractor bids and contracts. • Prepare cost analysis reports and present findings to clients and senior management. • Forecast and manage cash flow requirements for retail construction projects. • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors on scope, design, and cost alignment. • Attend project meetings to advise on cost management and cost‑saving opportunities. • Maintain detailed records of estimates, change orders, and project documentation for audit purposes. • Identify cost risks and recommend mitigation strategies during pre‑construction and construction phases. • Adhere to applicable SOX control responsibilities where required.

What You Bring
The role is for a Cost Estimator supporting a global technology client’s retail portfolio in Cupertino. It is a hybrid position that requires on‑site presence three days a week (Tuesday‑Thursday) and focuses on producing accurate cost estimates for architecturally innovative commercial retail projects while supporting benchmarking, cost tracking and indexing throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical abilities, attention to detail and collaborative skills. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field. • Minimum 5 years’ cost estimating experience in retail or similar commercial construction. • Proficiency with cost estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Buildertrend, Procore, Bluebeam). • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and value‑engineering skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for cross‑team collaboration. • Ability to work on‑site in Cupertino three days per week (Tuesday‑Thursday).
