About the Role
The Scale Clerk works under the direction of the Scale Supervisor and is responsible for managing the entry and exit of trucks, visitors, and contractors on the site. The role may require temporary or regular adjustments to duties to accommodate workflow changes or restructuring. Key duties include controlling scale inputs and outputs, weighing trucks according to manifests and schedules, directing drivers to appropriate unloading locations, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. The clerk also registers drivers in the access system, issues roundels, and monitors waiting times to keep traffic flowing smoothly. The position handles visitor and contractor check‑in, provides safety briefings, and notifies relevant departments of arrivals. It also processes and digitizes manifests for government reporting, prepares shipments of manifests, and supplies the CSR with necessary paperwork for billing. Additional responsibilities involve registering new employees in the LENEL security system, maintaining communication with various departments during anomalies, and adhering to company health, safety, and environmental policies. The clerk may perform any other related tasks as required. • Control scale inputs and exits using credit cards, lights, or driver mobile devices. • Weigh trucks of residues, raw materials, and other loads per manifests and arrival schedule. • Verify that correct documentation accompanies each shipment and ensure data accuracy. • Direct drivers to the designated unloading area and manage waiting times. • Register drivers in the access system and issue roundels. • Check‑in visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel; provide safety video as needed. • Scan and email manifests to the Canadian government and archive copies. • Prepare and ship manifest packages with permits and CCI via FedEx. • Supply CSR with completed manifests and weigh tickets for billing. • Respond to internal department inquiries and handle external calls when possible. • Communicate anomalies to relevant teams and follow HSE procedures. • Register new employees in the LENEL system and grant site access. • Maintain compliance with company health, safety, and environmental policies. • Apply continuous‑improvement methods and quality procedures.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a DEP or equivalent, have at least one to two years of relevant experience, be able to work effectively in a team, possess functional English skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Office. Experience with the transport of hazardous materials is an asset, and the role supports the company’s focus on continuous improvement and sustainability. • Possess DEP (or equivalent) with 1–2 years of related experience. • Demonstrate functional English proficiency and Microsoft Office competency. • Work effectively within a team environment. • Experience with hazardous‑material transportation considered an asset.
