About the Role

• Lead Mortenson’s quality system on medium to large projects. • Implement Quality Management Plan from start to final acceptance. • Establish and lead quality control initiatives and corrective actions. • Review project plans for quality requirements. • Manage quality events, punch list, and non‑conformance notices. • Resolve issues with or without guidance from Project Manager or Superintendent. • Oversee third‑party design and testing agencies. • Manage subcontracts and suppliers, including quality program reviews. • Coach and mentor field and project engineers and support career development.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Quality Manager who can interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, staying flexible, resourceful, proactive, and professional while maintaining confidentiality. The role requires anticipating problems, critical issues, and opportunities, and creatively solving them with viable solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail are essential. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for an employment visa, as Mortenson does not offer visa sponsorship. Posting periods typically remain open a minimum of five days, with an average of 44 days. • Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural engineering, construction management, or a related field. • Minimum three years’ experience leading a project’s quality system in design, engineering, or construction. • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize multiple project tasks. • Basic understanding of construction law and standard business practices. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Primavera Unifier. • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer‑service skills. • Knowledge of quality systems such as Malcolm Baldridge, ISO 9000, Lean, Kaizen, Army Corps of Engineers, Mortenson’s Quality System, continuous improvement, or value streams. • Experience with issue management and inspection of work. • Completed training in basic project management and supervision. • Current driver’s license.

Benefits

The base pay range for this role is $100,100 – $150,200, with higher ranges for locations such as Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C.
