About the Role
In this position you will define data-collection methods for soil, groundwater, surface water, air, and other matrices, conduct investigations and inspections, and prepare visualizations, tables, charts, and technical reports to present findings. You will ensure regulatory compliance, develop Work Plans, Quality Assurance Project Plans, and Health and Safety Plans, and interact professionally with agencies, subcontractors, and clients. Additional duties include assisting with project scoping, overseeing cross-functional teams, conducting research, supporting proposal development, and staying current with environmental science techniques. • Define data‑collection methods for soil, groundwater, surface water, air, and other environmental matrices. • Conduct field investigations, inspections, and environmental studies to assess site conditions. • Prepare visualizations, tables, charts, and technical reports to communicate findings. • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements and maintain documentation. • Develop and implement Work Plans, Quality Assurance Project Plans, and Health and Safety Plans. • Interact professionally with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients. • Assist in project scoping, development, and management of medium‑sized to large projects. • Perform research and support proposal development. • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of environmental science methods and techniques. • Uphold ethical decision‑making, safety policies, and the company’s Code of Conduct.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate has a proven track record in field work execution and is an emerging task manager ready to transition to full project management responsibilities. Initial field work will be required, with a progression toward overseeing schedule, budget, and overall project execution. Strong technical writing, communication, and decision-making skills are essential for success. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a closely related field and possess at least three years of experience conducting environmental investigations, including planning, field work, data processing, and technical writing. A solid understanding of state and federal protection regulations, permitting processes, and project management of small to medium-size projects is required. Critical-thinking, problem-solving, strong safety awareness, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are also necessary. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, experience with quantitative hydrogeologic analysis, proficiency in graphics software, and completion of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training as well as basic First Aid and CPR certification. • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline. • Minimum three years of experience in environmental investigations, including field work and technical writing. • Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and permitting processes. • Experience managing small to medium‑size projects. • Strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, and data‑analysis abilities. • Proven safety record and adherence to health, safety, and harassment policies. • Excellent written and oral communication for scientific and non‑technical audiences. • Ability to lead junior team members and ensure QA/QC compliance. • Willingness to travel, work flexible schedules, and meet HAZWOPER physical requirements. • Preferred: Master’s degree, quantitative hydrogeologic analysis experience, OSHA HAZWOPER certification, and graphics development skills.

The expected salary range for this role is $78,300 – $103,000, with final compensation dependent on education, experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location.
