About the Role
The driver is responsible for safely operating a heavy‑duty truck on transfer routes while adhering to Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Vehicle cleanliness and safety are maintained through regular inspections and proper reporting of any issues. Key duties include completing pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report, communicating unsafe situations, incidents, and customer requests to the Operations Manager or Dispatch, and participating in scheduled training and briefings. Drivers must dump containers, keep customer sites free of debris, correctly position containers, submit excess‑yardage tickets, and follow route assignments while completing all required documentation. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks safely on transfer routes, complying with OSHA, DOT, and company standards. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections using DVIR and report issues promptly. • Communicate unsafe conditions, incidents, and customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Dump containers, clean customer sites, reposition containers correctly, and submit yardage tickets. • Follow assigned routes, complete required documentation, and assist fellow drivers as directed. • Participate in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings to improve route efficiency.

What You Bring
No supervisory responsibilities are assigned to this position. Candidates must have at least three years of DZ truck experience, hold a valid DZ or Class 3 license (CDL requirement, minimum age 18), and be legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid Social Insurance Number. Successful applicants will also pass a pre‑employment drug screen, physical, background check, and maintain an acceptable driving record. Benefits
This is a union‑protected role at the Wentworth hauling site, offering a starting wage of $35.91 per hour. Employees can begin their shift at 4 am, 5 am, or 3 pm and work 10‑ to 12‑hour days, four days a week, which may include weekends. During the summer months, daily overtime of 11‑12 hours is expected on a six‑day schedule, and overtime is paid at time‑and‑half, with weekends always compensated at the overtime rate. Base pay is estimated at $35.91 hourly, with the final rate influenced by experience, certifications, and work location. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, paid vacation, holidays, and personal days, though benefits may vary by site.
