About the Role

Provide transmission line design, engineering, technical support, and oversight to a transmission engineering team to deliver safe, cost-effective, and high-quality services. The role includes leading discipline work, performing charge engineering duties, and managing project schedules and budgets, as well as supporting proposal development and cost estimating. The incumbent delivers engineering and technical guidance, ensures effective planning and monitoring of work, and generates accurate technical documentation. Continuous improvement, strong communication, and the ability to produce transmission line drawing packages are expected, while representing the company positively and maintaining customer relationships. The work is complex, requiring major decision-making where established procedures are unavailable. The position influences moderate-level decisions and requires tactful interaction with external engineers and stakeholders. No supervisory responsibilities are assigned. • Provide engineering expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve transmission line problems. • Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities. • Produce thorough, timely, accurate technical reports, calculations, and sketches. • Create and interpret transmission line drawing packages. • Support company goals and represent the organization professionally. • Interact daily with customers' internal engineers and technical personnel. • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers. • Monitor deliverables and schedules, presenting solutions to clients.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and have 5‑7 years of experience in power delivery within the electrical industry. A Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred, and regular attendance is required. Applicants should be able to read and interpret technical documents, write simple correspondence, and respond to inquiries. Required mathematical abilities include applying fractions, percentages, ratios, and spreadsheet analysis. Strong reasoning skills for interpreting technical instructions and solving practical problems are essential, alongside basic engineering theory, independent work capability, and effective communication across diverse populations. Desired qualifications include a BS in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering, a NCEES-recorded PE license, and at least five years of high-voltage transmission line design experience (≥69 kV). Proficiency with NESC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE standards, and tools such as PLSCADD, PLSPOLE, and MFAD is valued, as is experience mentoring junior staff, coordinating interdisciplinary teams, and overseeing site-related engineering issues. The role involves predominantly sedentary work with occasional standing, walking, and frequent use of hands for tools; lifting up to 25 lb may be required. Work conditions include occasional exposure to outdoor weather, moderate noise, and potential electrical shock risk, with required peripheral vision. • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
