About the Role
The Sorter’s primary responsibility is to ensure proper placement and sorting of materials on the conveyor line. They achieve this by sorting items accurately to maintain line efficiency. • Inspect and sort materials by type, size, condition, color, or paper grade. • Remove contaminants from paper and the floor. • Stack and dump boxes, skids, and totes. • Load wastepaper onto the conveyor system. • Clean the conveyor line and surrounding work area. • Monitor machine startup and maintain appropriate speed. • Follow standard operating procedures for equipment operation and maintenance. • Report safety hazards or equipment malfunctions. • Participate in weekly/monthly safety and operations meetings.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include no prior experience; a high school diploma or GED is preferred. The position is open to candidates without prior experience, and a high school diploma or GED is considered a plus. Physical demands involve climbing, balancing, sitting, hearing, repetitive motions, and coordination of eye, hand, and foot. Employees must be able to perform these tasks safely in both indoor and outdoor environments. The role may require a REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative for air travel or access to federal property. Candidates must be willing to obtain the required identification if they do not already possess one.
