About the Role
The Managing Quantity Surveyor role, based in or near Guildford, will involve overseeing commercial aspects across multiple sites in the region. The position requires leading contract administration, managing subcontract relationships, producing financial reports, and supporting cost planning and risk mitigation. • Lead commercial administration as Project Commercial Lead • Create and maintain a safe working environment • Develop relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders • Produce and negotiate subcontract documentation, terms, prices and programmes • Manage subcontract work packages, interim assessments and change management • Issue commercial notices to clients and subcontractors per contract requirements • Manage change events and produce Compensation Event Quotations • Prepare, submit and agree monthly applications to the client • Coordinate with operational and engineering staff to maintain site records • Generate detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliations • Maintain a cost plan, forecast expenditure and track subcontractor liabilities using Oracle • Collaborate with the Project Manager on expenditure planning and risk mitigation • Attend weekly progress and risk reduction meetings with clients and subcontractors • Make key commercial decisions alongside the senior operational team • Lead and develop commercial staff, supporting their wellbeing and potential

What You Bring
Ideal candidates will have construction main‑contractor experience on design‑and‑build projects, strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts, familiarity with MOJ frameworks and PPC 2000, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
