About the Role
The role involves managing project planning and execution for the JP9102 project, preparing governance documentation, participating in tender evaluations, developing technical specifications, and supporting safety, security, and logistics throughout the capability lifecycle. • Manage JP9102 project scheduling, estimating, and risk assessment under the Project Director. • Prepare and review PMO plans, Gate 2 documentation, ODIA plans, and evaluation reports. • Participate in Tender Evaluation Working Groups to validate responses and support contract negotiations. • Develop and update technical documentation, system specifications, and interface management plans for Defence networks. • Contribute to safety and security program planning, assess FIC elements, and produce logistics support documentation for full lifecycle capability. • Work on critical Defence projects that protect Australia’s future.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate brings proven project‑management experience in CASG pre‑Gate 1/2 projects and the Defence Capability Life Cycle, strong tender and contracting knowledge with the ASDEFCON Complex suite, and a solid engineering background in communications, systems and SATCOM. Formal logistics qualifications, Defence acquisition experience, and commercial cost‑modelling skills are also required, along with a current Negative Vetting 1 (or higher) security clearance and possible ITAR compliance. A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to high‑quality outcomes are essential. • Experience with CASG pre‑Gate 1/2 projects, Defence Capability Life Cycle, and Gate 2 documentation (PES, IPMP). • Knowledge of the ASDEFCON Complex suite, tender development, evaluation, offer definition, and large‑scale Defence contract negotiations. • Background in communications, systems, and software engineering; preferably SATCOM and spacecraft procurement support. • Formal logistics qualifications and Defence acquisition experience, including ILS planning and contractor program management. • Skilled in Defence cost modelling, commercial drafting, and delivering well‑researched recommendations. • Current Negative Vetting 1 (or higher) security clearance; possible ITAR compliance required. • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes.
