Job Highlights
About the Role
The Principal Technical Professional – Mechanical (Rotary Equipment) works under general supervision but independently applies engineering knowledge, makes decisions on engineering problems, and represents the organization in conferences and negotiations. Strong spoken and written English communication skills are required, and the role provides technical guidance to designers and less‑experienced engineers, who rely heavily on scientific interpretations and advice. The incumbent is responsible for rotating machinery such as pumps and packaged units, with exposure to utility equipment, material handling, and bulk solids processing systems. Key duties include specifying, selecting, and servicing mechanical equipment, preparing datasheets, specifications, and requisitions for rotating equipment, and performing technical bid evaluations. The role also involves reviewing vendor drawings and coordinating technical information with vendors and internal engineering specialists. Experience with Front‑End Engineering Design (FEED) and offshore facilities is desirable. • Provide technical guidance to designers and junior engineers on rotating machinery and packaged systems. • Specify, select, and oversee mechanical equipment such as pumps, utility units, material handling, and bulk solids processing systems. • Prepare datasheets, specifications, and requisitions for rotating equipment and conduct technical bid evaluations. • Review vendor drawings and coordinate technical information with vendors and internal engineering specialists. • Apply and ensure compliance with standards like API‑610, API‑675, and other relevant API codes. • Support Front‑End Engineering Design (FEED) activities and contribute to engineering solutions for offshore facilities.
