About the Role
The Transmission Line Engineer will lead the design, engineering, technical support, and oversight for power transmission and substation projects, including renewable‑energy interconnections and grid‑modernization initiatives. Responsibilities include delivering safe, cost‑effective, high‑quality engineering solutions, managing project schedules and budgets, and supporting proposal development and cost estimating. The incumbent will provide technical direction on complex engineering problems and oversee the preparation of design drawings by the project team. • Provide engineering/technical expertise and guidance in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems. • Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities. • Produce thorough, timely, and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches. • Continuously improve job-related engineering, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance. • Understand and create transmission line drawing packages. • Support company goals and represent the company positively and professionally. • Interact daily with customers' internal engineers and technical personnel. • Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers. • Monitor deliverables and schedules, presenting solutions to the client.

What You Bring
A Bachelor’s degree in an ABET‑accredited engineering program and a Professional Engineering (PE) license are required. Candidates must have eight to ten years of electrical engineering experience in power delivery, with demonstrated expertise in high‑voltage transmission line design (≥69 kV). Regular attendance and the ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily are expected. Preferred qualifications include a BS in civil/structural or electrical engineering, NCEES‑recorded PE registration, and extensive knowledge of NESC, ASCE, IEC, IEEE, and related codes. The ideal candidate will be proficient in transmission line design software (e.g., PLSCADD, PLSPOLE, PLS TOWER), MS Office, cost estimating, and will have experience reviewing right‑of‑way requirements, conductor sag/tension, and preparing complete design packages. Mentoring junior staff, collaborating across disciplines, and providing on‑site engineering support are also valued. • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
