About the Role
• Manage cost control for multi-phase data center construction projects. • Develop and maintain cost plans, estimates, budgets, and cash‑flow forecasts. • Monitor cost performance, track actuals versus forecasts, and report variances. • Review and validate change orders and payment applications for compliance. • Support procurement strategies, bid analysis, vendor pre‑qualification, and contractor negotiations. • Prepare and present cost reports, forecasts, and executive‑level dashboards. • Track contingencies, commitments, and cost impacts; contribute to value‑engineering initiatives. • Conduct risk analysis and maintain commercial risk registers. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and participate in governance meetings. • Implement and improve cost‑management tools, templates, and reporting standards. • Manage final accounting, post‑contract audits, and lessons‑learned reviews. • Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.

What You Bring
The firm is hiring an experienced Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to act as the day-to-day client interface on a large-scale, mission-critical data centre program. The role is responsible for ensuring the project stays on schedule, within budget and meets the highest quality standards, with a strong focus on governance, commercial rigor and stakeholder engagement. The position requires a client-facing attitude, clear communication, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and it offers a hybrid schedule of three onsite days in Maiden, NC and two remote days per week. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or related field (master’s preferred). • 3–6 years of cost management or project controls experience in construction, preferably data centers or high‑tech. • Experience in construction consultancy. • Strong knowledge of cost management processes, change order review, cash‑flow forecasting and reporting. • Familiarity with procurement strategies, contract commercial management and value engineering. • RICS accreditation or progress toward certification (preferred). • Ability to interpret technical drawings and MEP specifications for cost analysis. • Proficiency with cost‑management software and advanced Excel/data analysis. • Excellent communication, organization and stakeholder‑management skills.
