About the Role
As an Assistant Diesel Mechanic you will maintain and repair trucks and equipment serving over 20 million customers nationwide, using modern tools and procedures on diesel and, at some locations, CNG trucks. Your day will involve diagnosing systems, performing repairs, and ensuring each vehicle leaves the shop safely and reliably. • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems • Estimate time and material costs for repairs and parts • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs) • Respond to emergency service calls and conduct safety checks • Complete paperwork documenting parts usage and repair times • Assist senior mechanics on project work and driver inspection reports • Maintain a clean, safe work area meeting OSHA standards
