About the Role
The Assistant Resident Engineer will report to the Resident Engineer, supervise construction activities, and act in place of the Resident Engineer when absent. Responsibilities include reviewing shop drawings, design proposals, and method statements; coordinating with design and contractor engineers; maintaining daily diaries and reports; overseeing inspectors and surveyors; chairing meetings with service authorities and contractors; ensuring safety goals and procedures are met; and preparing weekly and monthly progress reports. • Supervise road and infrastructure construction and act for Resident Engineer when absent. • Review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and related correspondence for utilities. • Coordinate with design engineers, contractor engineers, and service authorities to resolve issues. • Maintain daily diaries, reports, and ensure accuracy of records and as‑built drawings. • Monitor performance of inspectors and surveyors, chair special meetings, and enforce safety procedures. • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports and issue site instructions for utilities works. • Conduct material reviews, testing, and quality control to ensure compliance with specifications.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and have at least ten years of experience in design, site supervision, and construction management of road and infrastructure projects, including a minimum of two years supervising large‑scale infrastructure projects in Dubai. The role requires strong analytical skills for material reviews, testing, and quality control, solid knowledge of contractual relationships, full computer literacy, fluent English communication, and the ability to maintain records and hand over utility works to service authorities. Desired skills include knowledge of quality‑assurance specifications and statistical quality control.
