About the Role
The Bridge Engineering Department Lead position in Providence, RI, is part of AECOM’s Transportation Business Line. The role oversees bridge and transportation structural design, monitors staffing, and supports business development for a team of 6‑10 engineers. The candidate will guide technical work, mentor staff, and ensure design deliverables meet quality, schedule, and budget targets. They will also coordinate with other task leaders, maintain client relationships, and report project status. • Lead and mentor a bridge engineering team of 6‑10 staff, providing technical guidance and career development. • Advise project teams on technical issues, conduct quality reviews, and ensure designs are delivered on schedule and within budget. • Manage bridge design projects from inception to completion, coordinating calculations, models, cost estimates, drawings, and specifications. • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and service performance. • Monitor and coordinate staffing with regional bridge leaders to align resources with project needs.

What You Bring
• Hold a BS in Civil Engineering (or related field) with at least 10 years of bridge design experience and a Professional Engineer license. • Preferred credentials include project management experience, knowledge of AASHTO standards, an MS in Structural Engineering, and familiarity with RIDOT or RITBA.
