About the Role

Working closely with the Operations Manager and the client, the Assistant Transactions Manager conducts market research, oversees leasing documentation, and ensures smooth transaction flow. Responsibilities include managing existing leases (renewals, expansions, reductions, terminations), coordinating surplus space leasing, and protecting third‑party occupancies. The position also involves developing portfolio strategies, recommending process improvements, and supporting change‑management as workspaces evolve. The manager negotiates with brokers, liaises with legal counsel and planning consultants, and collaborates with internal teams such as Project Management, Operations, Lease Administration, and Taxation. Additional duties cover responding to internal and external inquiries, preparing reports, letters, presentations, and economic analyses, producing lease summaries for senior approval, maintaining transaction status reports, and preparing annual leasing and revenue budgets. • Manage existing leases, including renewals, expansions, reductions, and terminations. • Coordinate leasing of surplus office space and ensure third‑party occupancies do not impact other tenants. • Conduct market research and develop portfolio strategies aligned with evolving workspace needs. • Negotiate lease terms and license agreements with brokers, ensuring compliance with regulations. • Liaise with brokers, planning consultants, legal counsel, and internal teams (Project Management, Operations, Lease Administration, Taxation). • Prepare reports, letters, presentations, and economic profitability analyses for senior management. • Produce lease summaries, status reports, and annual leasing/revenue budgets.

What You Bring

We are seeking a full‑time bilingual (French/English) Assistant Transactions Manager to join our Ottawa team. The role supports a corporate client by managing lease knowledge, coordinating new leasing with external brokers, and handling lease renewals for office space. Candidates need a community college diploma in business administration, 3‑5 years of commercial or retail real‑estate transaction experience, advanced skills in acquisition, renewal, disposition strategy, negotiation, relationship management, and analytical cost analysis. Required licenses include a provincial Real Estate License and fluency in English and French. • Hold a community college diploma in business administration and 3‑5 years of commercial/retail real‑estate transaction experience. • Maintain a provincial Real Estate License and demonstrate fluent written and verbal English and French.
